Gallery A. Petersen Collection & Craft, Copenhagen
As I wrote in one of my previous posts, during autumn months we were holding the Design Collaborations by Lars Vejen exhibition at the Kyoto Museum of Traditional Crafts FUREAIKAN where I work part-time. From Kyoto, the exhibition travelled to Copenhagen, where it's currently on display at Gallery A. Petersen Collection & Craft until 11 February 2018.
Gallery A. Petersen opened on November 1st 2014 to celebrate design and craftsmanship. It sells vintage Danish design furniture pieces and contemporary arts and crafts (both Danish and Japanese). The collaborations between different professions are held in high regard here, and the relationship between the traditional Danish design and Japanese crafts is earnestly explored via various exhibitions, events and workshops.
I'm so glad I was able to visit the gallery A. Petersen after the exhibition opening! The affinity between the works of Danish architect and designer Lars Vejen and the gallery's concept is really apparent. It's not for nothing that the exhibition was awarded by the Danish Arts Foundation and graced with the royal visit of Princess Benedikte of Denmark.
The presentation and layout of the exhibition is totally different from the ones it had at FUREAIKAN. Here, the pieces are accessible from all sides and can be touched. You're warmly welcome to visit the exhibition if you're in Copenhagen until February 11th!

Being a fan of high-quality wool outerwear, I was smitten by the gorgeous orange version of the FELT wool jacket. The can-I-just-keep-it? look is written all over my face..
The whole gallery is a wonderland of design and crafts. Both contemporary art lovers and those who prefer classic pieces will find something appealing to them.
