Plum blossom season's enchantment

Plum blossom season in Japan is somewhat eclipsed by the cherry blossom frenzy, but we love it! Blooming in February, the Japanese plum (梅, ume) brings long-awaited white and pink flowers in our winter lives. Here in Kyoto, we're spoiled by the flowers all year round (such as camellias that bloom even under the snow), but the more the better, right?

These video & images were taken in Kyoto Imperial Palace Park and Jonangu shrine.
